Honey Lemon Pepper Wings
Ingredients:
For the Wings:
- 2 lbs chicken wings (split at joints, tips removed)
- 1 tbsp baking powder (for crispiness)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
For the Honey Lemon Pepper Sauce:
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (fresh is best)
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tsp cracked black pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions:
1. Prep the Wings:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Pat the wings dry with paper towels.
- In a large bowl, toss wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until evenly coated.
2. Bake the Wings:
- Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Arrange wings in a single layer.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
✅ Air fryer method: Cook at 400°F for 25–30 minutes, shaking the basket every 8–10 minutes.
3. Make the Sauce:
- In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
- Stir in honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined and warmed through (about 2–3 minutes).
4. Toss & Serve:
- Once wings are done, toss them in a large bowl with the honey lemon pepper sauce.
- Serve immediately with optional lemon wedges or parsley garnish.
