Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 200 g unsalted butter (about 1 cup), softened
- 100 ml vegetable oil (about ½ cup)
- 1 large egg
- 10 g baking powder (2 tsp)
- 10 g vanilla sugar (1 tbsp) or 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 200 ml cornstarch (about ¾ cup)
- 200 g powdered sugar (about 1½ cups)
- 2–3 cups all-purpose flour (adjust until dough is soft and pliable)
- 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks
Directions
- Cream the Base
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with the powdered sugar until light and creamy. Add the vegetable oil and mix well. - Add Wet Ingredients
Mix in the egg and vanilla sugar (or extract) until well combined. - Build the Dough
Stir in the baking powder and cornstarch. Gradually add flour, ½ cup at a time, until a soft dough forms that doesn’t stick to your hands. - Add Chocolate Chips
Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks, mixing just enough to distribute them evenly.
- Shape the Cookies
Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to form uniform dough balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing about 2 inches apart. - Bake
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are just turning golden. The centers should remain soft. - Cool & Serve
Let the cookies rest on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Serve warm or store once fully cooled.
