Okra Water For Glowing Skin

Ingredients Required

  • 4–5 fresh okra pods
  • 3–4 cloves (laung)
  • 1 small cinnamon stick (or ½ tsp cinnamon powder)
  • 1½ cups filtered water
  • Optional: 1 tsp lemon juice or honey for taste

Why This Drink Works

  • Okra is rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and mucilage that hydrate skin, reduce inflammation, and flush out toxins.
  • Cloves have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that fight skin breakouts and support clearer skin.
  • Cinnamon improves blood circulation, supports collagen production, and helps regulate sugar spikes (which can cause acne).

How to Make Okra Water

Method 1: Overnight Soak (No Boil)

  1. Wash and slice 4–5 okra pods vertically to expose the seeds and mucilage.
  2. Place the slices in a glass jar.
  3. Add 3–4 cloves and 1 small cinnamon stick.
  4. Pour in 1½ cups of filtered water.
  5. Cover and let it soak overnight (8–12 hours) at room temperature.
  6. In the morning, strain the water into a glass.
  7. Optional: Add 1 tsp lemon juice or honey for extra taste and glow benefits.

Method 2: Quick Boil

  1. Add 4–5 chopped okra pods, 3 cloves, and 1 small cinnamon stick to 1½ cups of water.
  2. Boil the mixture for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Let it cool, then strain and drink warm or chilled.

  • Drink 1 glass every morning on an empty stomach for best results.
  • Consume at least 4–5 times a week for noticeable improvements in skin tone and texture.
  • Follow with a glass of plain water after 15–20 minutes if desired.
